A Welcome from the Superintendent

W elcome to the American School of Kuwait (ASK), a school deeply committed to the mission of inspiring our students to be life-long learners empowered to excel in American High Education and the global community as innovative, compassionate citizens. Whether you are visiting our website for the first time as a prospective parent, a current parent looking for the latest updates, or an interested community member wanting to learn more about who we are, I hope that you find this site helpful and informative.

ASK serves an international student body of more than 2,000 students Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, representing over 50 countries. Our students receive an excellent education based upon an American system that offers a diverse and dynamic curriculum carefully designed to engage each and every student and apply their learning to practical, real-life scenarios.

School can be a challenging and exciting time for students. Here at ASK we strive to help our students develop the confidence and skills to be successful long after they leave. From the warmth and compassion embodied by our staff, to our engaging classrooms, to the robust after school athletics and activities programs offered at ASK, our school community aims to support students every step of the way in their development.

As I begin year 11 as a member of our school community and first in the role of Superintendent, it is very important to me to further cultivate positive relationships with all members of our community. Learning is an ongoing process that we are all engaged in, all the time. To be most successful in this process, we must work together and communicate openly. My door is always open if there are any concerns or thoughts to be shared and discussed.

On behalf of the entire ASK community, I look forward to working and learning with you this school year.

Mr. Michael Murphy
