A Welcome from the the Elementary Guidance Counselor

Hello!  My name is Mira Nasr and I am the elementary school counselor. I work with all of our students from the three-year-olds in the CDC program to our fifth graders who are preparing for Middle School. I was born in Lebanon but was raised and educated all over the world.

As the elementary school counselor, I work with our students individually, in groups, and in a classroom setting for Life Lab. Throughout Life Lab students will focus on, understanding self and others, coping strategies, peer relationships and effective social skills, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and study skills, career awareness and the world of work,, and multicultural awareness.

The individual and small group counseling offered deals with self-image and self-esteem, personal adjustment, family issues, interpersonal concerns, and academic development. Students are referred by teachers, parents, or self-referred.

I am also part of our Student Resource Team, which is a group of professionals that support our students so that they can achieve to the maximum of their potential. I truly enjoy my time here at ASK and appreciate the wonderful students and dedicated faculty. It is a warm and caring place to be.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any concerns or questions. I am here to help.
