A Welcome from the Grade 6 Coordinator
Greetings from the ASK 6th Grade teachers! The
6th Grade is one of the most important turning
points in a student's career. Not only does it
set the stage for 7th and 8th, it is also where
students begin to acquire the skills and habits of
mind that make them successful high school students.
At ASK we understand the importance of this year and
the challenges that come with it. In the 6th
Grade our students begin changing classes, using
lockers, and representing ASK on sports teams.
It is also a year in which expectations are raised
when it comes to student responsibility, in both
behavior and academics. The other 6th Grade
teachers and I are charged with ensuring that our
students become more independent as citizens and as
learners. We believe that as our students
mature in this way they will be all the more
prepared to excel in middle school, high school, and
beyond.
