Welcome to ASK’s Science Department
At the American School of Kuwait, we believe in an
active, challenging program that engages our
students and provides them with skills for continued
success. It is our belief that learning about
science is an active process – not just “hands on”
but “minds on” as well. Science is more than a
course in which students learn skills of observing,
inferring and experimenting. Inquiry is also a key
component and is regularly practiced through asking
questions, gathering data, developing explanations,
testing those explanations and communicating ideas
to others. At ASK, students actively develop their
understanding of science by combining scientific
knowledge with reasoning and critical thinking
skills while practicing the processes of science
through “real world” applications.
