a strong base with which students can communicate
effectively in Arabic. The Arabic language program
encompasses reading, handwriting, spelling, grammar,
comprehension, dictation, conversation, listening,
composition, calligraphy and the study of

Arabic as a Foreign Language (AFL)

culture at the elementary level. This will enable
students to increase their Arabic vocabulary and
cultural awareness. The Arabic language program for
expatriate students encompasses reading,
handwriting, spelling, and conversational use of the

Art
Children from KG 2 - Fifth Grade will be able to
experience and explore the world of art through
multi-media. Children learn to express themselves
freely through color, line, shape, form, texture,
and space. They will be introduced to a variety of
famous artists and their works. Each will try their
"hand" at the special techniques used by those
artists.
Students are challenged with a wide array of
materials. Crayon, finger-paints, markers, pastels,
watercolor, tempera, printing, bas-relief foil art,
collages, clay, and fiber arts will appeal to the
enthusiastic artists within your child.
Life in Kuwait adds a new and exciting dimension to
the arts. The Arab architecture and culture is
discussed and is a popular theme in many of the art
projects.
Computers
Our primary objective is to enable students to
access, process, and communicate information and
knowledge utilizing technology. A comprehensive
Elementary Technology Program that weaves knowledge,
learning and technology with all core subjects is
emphasized. We believe our program has a positive
impact on our students in both personal and
educational growth.
Drama
The ASK Elementary Drama program builds student
confidence, improves and enhances language and
communication skills, and develops problem solving
and creative thinking skills. It includes
drama activities where the experience, or dramatic
process, of the participants is the goal.
Activities such as dramatic play, story enactment,
role drama, theatre games, and movement are the
focus. Students also explore dramatic forms
such as tableau, improvisation, puppets and masks.
All students have the opportunity to share and
showcase their dramatic skills at grade level
performances. The standards in dramatic arts
define a comprehensive arts education and reflect a
commitment to a quality education for every ASK
school child.
Music
