Grade 2
 Second Grade is a very important stepping stone in
early childhood development. While honing the basics
of early childhood education, second grade takes a
closer look at the fundamentals.
A child that is in Second Grade is exposed to a
variety of literary genres while maintaining a
multi-cultural perspective. Reading strategies are
developed further while a variety of writing
techniques are introduced. Cooperative learning in
all areas of the classroom is fostered.
Conversations and discussions are modeled and a
multi-sensory approach is encouraged to empower
students to ask questions and begin to take
responsibility for their learning. The Mathematics
program focuses on developing a greater
understanding of how mathematics affects their
everyday life. Recognition and calculation of basic
Mathematics concepts are taught with an early
introduction to Geometry and Algebra. Foundations in
life, earth and physical science are presented along
with a strong social studies emphasis on communities
and the study of Kuwait.
