3. What happens after all paperwork has been
completed?
The parent will be contacted and a testing date will
be determined. The student will be asked to come to
the school for testing. The test takes around one
hour complete. After the test is submitted, the
parent will be contacted and told if the student has
been admitted.
4. What kind of test is it?
In the elementary, the Test of Academic of Academic
Performance is given. It measures the mathematics,
spelling, reading recognition, and reading
comprehension level. By taking this test, we have a
measure of the grade level at which the student is
functioning.
In the middle school and high school we give The
Three R’s Test. It is divided into reading
comprehension, grammar, and math. It will give us a
percentile score that will tell how the student did
in comparison to other students at our school.
5. Why is an admission test given?
Because our school is college preparatory in nature,
it is important that students who are admitted have
the ability to be successful at our school. These
tests let us know how the student will do here.
6. If my child has been in the British system, how
is grade placement done?
The numbering system in the British system is
different from ours. If a student is in level two in
the British system, the equivalent grade in the
American system is grade one. It is important to
realize that this is not repeating a grade. It is
merely a different numbering system. |
