The American International School of Kuwait -
April 11 - 15, 2007
The American International School of Kuwait is
hosting the 2007 Varsity Academic Games which
involves the following events: Academic Bowl,
Academic Olympiads, Spelling Challenge, Spelling
Bee, & Math Challenge.
The maximum number of teams that can take part in
the tournament is 18 with up to two teams per school
and up to four students per team.
Academic Olympiad and Sponsors
The five Academic Olympiads are the more challenging
events and are interspersed throughout the
tournament so students have a variety of activities
over the day. The participating schools are expected
to take turns in designing these "well designed
academic team challenges" of approximately 45-50
minutes in length covering Language Arts, Science,
Logic, History, Geography, Current Events, etc.
These events are usually held in a large
multipurpose room or auditorium where separate
tables are set up for each team. Teams are not given
advanced information on the five Olympiads.
