A Welcome from the
School's Owner, Wael A. Abdul Ghafoor
It
is with great pleasure and pride that I write this
narrative for the ASK website.
Directly following the liberation of Kuwait from the
Iraqi occupation, we immediately visited the ASK
school site to supervise the preparations for the
school's reopening. As part of this process, I
attended some meetings with my father designed to
reopen ASK for the 91 - 92 school year.
My involvement with the school became official in
1994. My father had requested that I continue
his work and devotion to ASK's mission, and I can
still remember his words; "I entrust you with the
school.
Guard it." Specifically, as an ASK alumnus,
my role in the school had come full circle from
student, to graduate, to my present position.
In the years that followed we have worked
tirelessly, assisted by friends and the school
community to strengthen our school and meet the very
high expectations in the
ASK tradition. At
this time, ASK's future is bright and full of
promise as we sit on the 'cutting edge' of
technology and other advances within the educational
sphere.
I cannot be less than proud of ASK when I see the
results of our graduates as they seek higher
education and gain acceptance in the finest
institutions in the USA.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my
sincere gratitude and great appreciation for the
continuous support given to ASK by the highest
officials with the Kuwait government, the Ministry
of Education, all past and present ambassadors of
the American Embassy, and the administrators,
teachers and staff for the continuous and valuable
assistance in service to our students.
